Nottingham shoppers have spoken out about what they would like to see replace the former Disney store at the Victoria Centre.
Earlier this year, it was announced that all Disney stores in the UK and ROI were to be closed down expect, two flagship stores in Dublin and Oxford Street in London.
Nottinghamshire Live spoke to residents about what they would like to see.
Freya Pennant, 22-years-old, who is a student in Nottingham, remembers the Disney store fondly: “Yeah, it was my childhood. I would like to see an arcade so my nieces and nephews can have fun.”
Chris Brown, 34, a truck driver from Chilwell, told Nottinghamshire Live “I’ve got two little girls who love Disney so it would have been good to have a Disney store as we approach Christmas. I don’t think I ever took them to the store in Nottingham but we’ve been to the one in London and they’ve been to Disney World in Paris. It would be nice to see another toy shop possibly so upstairs is known for that again.”
Rachel Lane, 56-years-old, who is retired lives near the city centre told Nottinghamshire Live: “I was a fan of Disney as a kid and I don’t mind watching the classics with my two. I think I’d be nice if there was a salon maybe. I’ve recently just left a salon I had been going to for ages and I can’t seem to find one so a brand new one in here wouldn’t hurt, it’ll look a bit out of place here I suppose. If not a salon, something else fun for the kids.”
This is a pantomime with a difference, allowing you to chase the White Rabbit, stop for tea with the Hatter - and narrowly avoid decapitation by the Queen of Hearts herself!
