Nottingham Forest are said to have a top talent on their hands in youngster Marcus McGuane.
And the midfielder certainly arrived at the City Ground with a decent CV, even at just 21 years old, having followed in some illustrious footsteps.
He signed for the Reds - initially for the Under-23s team - from Barcelona. Before that, he had come up through the ranks at Arsenal.
In making the move to the Nou Camp from the Gunners, McGuane became the first Englishman to play for Barca’s senior side since Gary Lineker almost three decades earlier.
That landmark moment came in March 2018, not long after he had signed for the club.
He came off the bench in the Catalan Super Cup final as Espanyol were beaten on penalties - 29 years after Lineker had represented Barcelona.
The England great tweeted at the time: “Wish him every success.”
And McGuane has previously spoken of his pride at that achievement.
“It was a massive experience for me and my family,” he said, after he had pulled on the famous shirt.
“Words can't really describe how it felt walking out there. But it felt really good.
“When the coach told me I'm coming on I thought just be calm and play my game and show what I can do.
“A lot of people told me when I signed that Gary Lineker was the last English person to play for Barcelona. So to know that I'm next, that's some achievement.”
And last September he recalled the moment when speaking to the ‘i’: “It was quite a big thing.
“Back home it was on the six o’clock news.
“I got so many messages. So many. My Whatsapp, my Instagram, you can imagine. It was crazy.”
McGuane had said he hoped to use his Barca bow to “carry on pushing with the B team and get as many games as possible”.
He wanted “to be a first-teamer and will do everything to get there”.
It didn’t quite pan out that way, with the Londoner finding game time limited and eventually going on loan to Dutch side Telstar earlier this season.
That spell was ended prematurely to complete his move to Forest, where he will hope to make a name for himself once again in time.
