Joao Carvalho has outlined Nottingham Forest's plans as they prepare for a possible return to action.
The Reds' season is currently suspended until further notice due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It is hoped that the campaign can be completed at some point when it is safe to do so - most likely behind closed doors.
No dates have been officially confirmed as yet, as much depends on how the crisis unfolds.
But it seems Forest - and no doubt their rivals - have put plans in place to make sure they are ready if and when the action is able to resume.
In an interview with Portuguese media outlet Maisfutebol, Carvalho revealed that he and his team-mates had been given a break from their home fitness programmes ahead of a potential return to training in the middle of next month.
That would be with a view to having a "pre-season" before restarting the Championship campaign in June.
"Last week we had the information that the Championship was only going to start at the end of June and the beginning of July and they gave us holidays to rest," Carvalho is quoted as saying.
"And my routine changed - last week I woke up much later and fell asleep much later.
"Now we are on a three-week vacation, then we will be training for a week at home and, if all goes well, we will return to training in mid-May for a month-long pre-season."
Forest are fifth in the table - inside the play-off zone - with nine matches of the regular campaign remaining.
Sabri Lamouchi's men have a five-point cushion inside the top six, while they are 10 points adrift of an automatic promotion spot.
