What Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has said about play-off rivalry on final day

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi says he will not follow the scores elsewhere, in the final day battle for a play-off place.

The Frenchman says he will be fully focused on what is happening at the City Ground, as his team take on Stoke City.

But some of his support staff will keep check on the Reds’ top six rivals, with Swansea City ready to pounce should either Forest or Cardiff City slip up.

A point will be good enough for Lamouchi’s men, who go into the match fifth in the Championship.

Should they lose, however, there is the potential for the Bluebirds (who are at home to Hull City) and the seventh-placed Swans to overtake them - although the latter would need to beat Reading and swing goal difference in their favour.

“I just want to focus on the game,” said Lamouchi.

“Some of the staff will check around, but I don’t want to know anything. I just want to focus on the game, on my players, against Stoke and to play for the victory.

“For the others, I don’t want to know anything, for my part.

“For the last game, there are a lot of teams playing for many things - to go up, for the play-offs, to go down.

“The rest of my staff will be following here and there - but I just want to be at the City Ground with my team and my players, because it is an important moment for the club.

“It is also an important moment for the players.”
