What Norwich fans chanted at Jose Mourinho and a surprise proposal - Spurs moments missed

A classy tribute

Saturday's game against Norwich City started with a classy tribute to a great of both clubs.

Martin Peters sadly passed away prior to Christmas at the age of 76 and the Canaries wanted to pay tribute to their former player in their first home game since his death.

Both sides and everyone inside the stadium came together for a minute's applause, with all players wearing black armbands in tribute to the 1966 World Cup winner.

Jose Mourinho: Harry Kane is fantastic

The midfielder, who joined Norwich from Spurs back in March 1975, also featured on the front of the club's matchday programme which included a brilliant tribute to the former England international.

It really was a great touch for such a memorable player ahead of the game.

A surprise proposal

Love was in the air ahead of the encounter at Carrow Road on Saturday evening.

Prior to the game starting at 5.30pm, one home fan decided to pop the question to his girlfriend on the pitch with all supporters in the ground watching on.

Perhaps not the most romantic of places to ask your partner to become your wife, thankfully he wasn't left embarrassed as she accepted his proposal.

While not everyone will always remember the game between Norwich and Spurs, it will always have a place in the hearts of the happy couple.

What Norwich fans chanted at Mourinho

Jose Mourinho wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms in East Anglia as Spurs played out a 2-2 draw with Norwich.

Falling behind early on as Mario Vrancic was given all the time and space in the world to find the bottom corner after Juan Foyth had lost the ball, the home fans decided to let the Spurs boss know exactly what they thought of him.

Chants of "F*** Off Mourinho" started to ring around the stadium shortly after the goal and it was incredibly loud.

However, the head coach was the one to have the last laugh as Spurs sealed a point late on through Harry Kane to ensure that they didn't slip to an embarrassing defeat against the league's basement boys.

And the VAR chants...

Norwich fans were left incensed 15 minutes after taking the lead through Vrancic after Teemu Pukki had a goal wiped out by VAR.

Played in by the midfielder after some poor play from Serge Aurier, the striker collected the ball between Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen to shoot beyond Paulo Gazzaniga.

It was bedlam inside the stadium but all celebrations soon stopped after the goal was ruled out after the Finland international was adjudged to have been offside by the smallest of margins.

Fresh from chanting about Mourinho only a few minutes earlier, the home faithful then decided to shout "F*** VAR" at the top of their voices after their two-goal cushion was harshly ruled out.

Given some of the ludicrous decisions we have seen from VAR over the course of the season so far, we definitely haven't heard the last of that chant just yet.
