What Nicolas Pepe's agent said about Man Utd transfer link as 'discussions' progress

Manchester United are keen on signing Nicolas Pepe in this summer's transfer window as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

And the good news is that his agent has previously admitted the Ivorian is "open to everything" and would therefore consider a move to Old Trafford.

Pepe is currently at Lille, but has attracted attention from a number of top clubs including both Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League.

His £70million price tag rules the Gunners out of a move for the striker while Jurgen Klopp has previously made it clear he's not looking to spend big at Liverpool this summer.

This puts United in the driving seat amid reports from The Times that the Old Trafford club have recently progressed discussions to sign Pepe.

United will have money to spend if Lukaku completes a big-money move to Inter Milan.

The Red Devils have already rejected a £50million bid for the forward, but the Italian's are expected to return with an improved offer for the Belgian.

Discussing his client's availability earlier in the transfer window, Pepe's agent Samir Khiat hinted the forward would be on the move this summer.

He told L'Equipe Mercato: "Nicolas is open to everything. The aim is for him to sign in the right place. Paris Saint-Germain is a possibility.

"Today, all parties need to reach an agreement. There are exchanges and discussions. He is wanted by a considerable number of clubs.

"For him the most important thing is to be wanted and to go to a good club in which he will play and continue to progress."
