What next after Obama's Hiroshima visit?

What next after Obama's Hiroshima visit?

Barack Obama made history on Friday when he became the first sitting US president to visit the memorial site at Hiroshima.

That's one of the sites where the US dropped atomic bombs during the final stage of World War II.

Although Obama did not offer an official apology, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said this moment opened a new chapter between the two countries.

So what is that new chapter? And what does that mean for the rest of Asia?

Presenter: Martine Dennis

Guests

Jia Xiudong - Senior Research Fellow at China Institute of International Studies

Yoshiki Mine - Former Director General of International Relations at the Japanese Ministry of Defence.

Taku Tamaki - Lecturer in International Relations and Research Fellow at the Institute of Asian Cultural Studies
