What new move is creating even more Kevin Durant to New York buzz?

If you have been living under a rock for a while, you have missed a lot in the NBA, especially regarding Kevin Durant. The Warriors star forward, who has the ability to opt out of his contract at the end of this year, has been rumored to a variety of destinations outside of the Bay Area, most notably New York.

While Durant has been insistent that this is the just the media putting words into his mouth, there have been telling signs that Durant is not confirmed to stay with the Warriors.

The latest piece of news deals with Durant’s business. Thirty Five Ventures, a media/investment venture capital firm, has moved its offices to New York, according to ESPN.

The company has 10 employees at the moment, but it is moving into a new office building in New York City as it continues what Durant insists is a careful expansion. “I just feel like you can do it more of a strategic way,” he says. “If you put yourself out there too much and then underdeliver … that’s not good.”

The company is run by Durant’s friend and agent of six years, Rich Kleiman. Kleiman and Durant have grown increasingly close over the years. If Kleiman is plotting a move to The Big Apple, it could be an indicator that Durant will follow. It also could mean nothing, and just a strategy to move into arguably the biggest market in the US. Until Durant makes his final decision, we most likely will not know the true meaning behind this decision.
