What Nat Phillips did to Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaves Liverpool fans stunned after win at AC Milan

Liverpool fans were left in awe at the piece of skill Nat Phillips performed inside his own box in the San Siro against AC Milan.

The Reds were under some pressure and Phillips looked as though he might have a tricky moment to deal with - before he performed a Cruyff turn to send Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie the wrong way.

Phillips has been handed his first start in the Champions League this season as Jurgen Klopp made eight changes to the side that beat Wolves on Saturday.

The 24-year-old partnered Ibrahima Konate at the heart of the defence as he continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield in January.

He put in a dominant performance - and capped it off with a flourish with that piece of skill inside his own penalty area.

Fans took to twitter as they were left stunned by the Phillips dragback as one supporter said: “If that turn was one of the last things Nat Phillips does in a Liverpool shirt, before completing a £130m move to Newcastle United in January, then what a way to bow out big man.”

Another fan added: “Nat Phillips doing Cruyff turns in the San Siro is the content we are here for!”

Perhaps a slight exaggeration but maybe not too far from the truth was a third person's opinion: “Nat Phillips is the greatest footballer of all time".

Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners on the night thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

It completed a perfect group stage campaign, as the Reds won all six games against AC Milan, Porto and Atletico Madrid.
