What N'Golo Kante did as his Chelsea teammates celebrated Super Cup success against Villarreal

Some Chelsea fans would be forgiven for thinking that lifting trophies has become the norm for N’Golo Kante by now.

During his first season in England, the Frenchman helped Leicester City to a miraculous Premier League crown and he has continued to hoover up silverware since moving to Chelsea.

The Frenchman has lifted a further league crown, a Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup and not to mention the World Cup with France in 2018.

He added another medal to his impressive collection on Wednesday evening as he helped the Blues to the UEFA Super Cup crown, the west Londoners overcoming Spanish outfit Villarreal on penalties at Windsor Park in Belfast.

Following the medal ceremony and the customary trophy lift, Cesar Azpilicueta being bestowed with that honour, Thomas Tuchel’s squad dispersed to reflect on another hard-fought victory.

Some players admired their medals, some had photographs with the trophy, whilst according to a video that Mason Mount shared on his Instagram story, others danced in the dressing room.

However, Kante did none of that as he was caught in the background of Mount’s video getting up close and personal with a fresh delivery of pizza and presumably taking his pick.

Whether his choice was pepperoni or a simple margherita remains to be seen.

Chelsea supporters will really not blame Kante for his devotion to the post-game snacks having turned in another impressive performance, despite only having appeared for 65 minutes before being replaced by Jorginho.

The Frenchman also captained the Blues on the night and was bestowed with the honour of walking into Windsor Park with the Champions League trophy.

Chelsea boss Tuchel will certainly hope that he has replenished his seemingly endless energy stores ahead of the Blues’ first Premier League game of the season against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
