What Mohamed Salah said straight after Liverpool won the Champions League final

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was ecstatic after helping his side to the Champions League trophy.

The Reds secured their sixth European Cup win a 2-0 win over Spurs at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Salah put his side ahead from the penalty spot inside the opening two minutes, before Divock Origi came off the bench to seal it for his side three minutes from time.

The final whistle brought plenty of emotional scenes from those in Red, with Salah, who limped off injured during his side's defeat to Real Madrid last season, clearly overcome by what was his side had achieved in the Spanish capital.

"Honestly I don’t know what to say, everybody is happy now," the forward told BT Sport.

"You win a final, I’m glad to play second final in a row and play 90 minutes, finally!

"Everyone did their best to win the game and it’;s not an individual performance for anyone.

"All the team was unbelievable.

"Congratulations to all of us and the fans around the world."

Salah's opener came courtesy of a penalty awarded for hand ball, despite VAR being used to review the decision, and the forward admitted he has now changed his mind on the technology.

"I said I’m against it. I like it anyway now. It’s great to win," he said with a huge smile.
