What Mohamed Salah did before heading down tunnel after Liverpool substitution at Brighton

Mohamed Salah was on target for Liverpool in their Premier League encounter with Brighton this afternoon, though was unable to complete the full 90 minutes of action.

The Egyptian forward converted a penalty in the second half after Brighton were penalised for a handball in the box, presenting the Reds' talisman with the chance to slam home his 20th league goal of the campaign.

After all the talk surrounding his contract saga at the club, Salah may have been pleased to divert attention back to his contributions on the pitch.

The 29-year-old failed to see out the remainder of the contest at the Amex Stadium, though, after going down to ground with 25 minutes left to play.

Jurgen Klopp was clearly not prepared to take any chances with his star man and introduced Diogo Jota in his place.

Prior to leaving the pitch, Salah had a farewell gift for one lucky home supporter.

After being asked for his shirt by a Seagulls fan, the Premier League top-scorer duly obliged and was met by a response of "I love you fella" as a result of his kind gesture.
