What Michy Batshuayi did to N'Golo Kante in Chelsea training session ahead of Ajax clash

N'Golo Kante is in the Chelsea squad for tonight's Champions League clash against Ajax at Stamford Bridge.

And there's one Blues player in particular who is very excited about the midfielder's imminent return to action.

It has been a stop-start season for Kante thus far and he suffered yet another injury setback whilst on international duty with France last month which didn't please head coach Frank Lampard.

As a result, the World Cup winner has missed wins over Newcastle United, Ajax, Burnley and Watford as well as the Carabao Cup defeat by Manchester United.

However, the good news is that he's recovered from the groin problem and is in contention to get some minutes under his belt as the Dutch champions arrive in west London hoping to avenge the defeat from a fortnight ago.

Confirmation of Kante's return has been greeted positively by Michy Batshuayi.

Batshuayi took to social media and uploaded a image of him celebrating right in front of the Frenchman during a training session.

It's unclear as to exactly what happened, but judging by the Belgian international's Instagram stories post , he "messed" with Kante and enjoyed it very much.

The post reads: "Love to mess with N'Golo," with two laughing emojis and a love heart accompanying the message.

Lampard said in his pre-match press conference that the Blues have been able to get some work into Kante during his injury lay-off.

"He’s in the squad, so he’s fit in terms of… It looks nicely like the injuries and the few niggles he was getting have cleared up," Lampard confirmed. "And we’ve been able to get some work into him, it’s always a little bit stop-start before that.

"But yes he’s in the squad and available."

Kante's return does at least give Lampard the chance to rotate either Jorginho or Mateo Kovacic against Ajax.

Or the Blues head coach could resist temptation to throw the Frenchman back into the mix from the start and either use him as a substitute or wait until Saturday's London derby against Crystal Palace.

As for Batshuayi, he scored the winner against Ajax a couple of weeks ago and will be pushing for a start ahead of Tammy Abraham.
