What Mesut Ozil has said to his Arsenal teammates ahead of medical and transfer announcement

Mesut Ozil's Arsenal exit is expected to be announced in the next 24 hours after the playmaker said goodbye to his teammates, football.london understands.

On Saturday morning, The Athletic broke the news that the 32-year-old and the Gunners had reached an agreement in principle to terminate his reported £350,000-a-week contract with immediate effect.

Ozil is set to become a free agent as his seven-and-a-half-year career at Arsenal draws to a close and he is due in Istanbul later today to undergo a medical.

The German World Cup winner has been teasing a move to his boyhood club. Ahead of the move, the Turkish club tweeted a line from a song, saying: "Come Let Us Be Night With Day..." along with a sand timer emoji.

That appeared to be the biggest hint yet regarding Ozil's arrival and the move was all-but confirmed when the midfielder quote retweeted it with yellow and blue hearts with a sand-timer.

Furthermore, Arsenal fans have also noticed an interesting change in Ozil's social media logo, which is an 'M' with a football.

The colours of the logo were previously black and red, with the red likely representing Arsenal, and interestingly, the colours are now black and yellow - the latter could represent Fenerbahce, whose home colours are navy blue and yellow.

football.london understands the midfielder has already said bid farewell to his Arsenal teammates and is being allowed to travel to Turkey for a medical with Fenerbahce.

He will fly in Ali Koc's - the president of Fenerbahce - private plane to Istanbul where's he is expected to land late tonight at Sabiha Gokcen Airport and hundreds, possibly thousands, of fans expected to greet him there.
