What Meghan Markle once wrote about the Duchess of Cambridge on her blog before she met Harry

As we all know, long before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was a social media enthusiast who regularly shared glimpses of her life on her blog, The Tig.

Now the blog is sadly defunct and these glimpses are carefully stage-managed via Instagram.

But not before little snippets were saved for posterity.

Like everyone else in the world, she couldn't escape royal wedding fever and back in 2014 - three years after the Duke and Duchess of Camdbridge's wedding - Meghan waded in to talk about princesses.

She had a few things to say about "grown women's" obsession with princesses.

In an interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi, a descendant of Libyan royalty, in 2014 she spoke about how society views princesses, reports Glamour magazine .

She wrote: "Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.

"For those of you unfamiliar with the '80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We're definitely not talking about Cinderella here."

But she went on to discuss how this fascination with princesses doesn't end when children grow up.

She writes: "Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate."

Who would have thought that just a few years later she herself would be planning her own royal wedding after falling in love with a prince.

Touching moment Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hinted at baby plans at their wedding

And there would be endless conversations about Princess Meghan.

Kate and Meghan have made a few public appearances together since Meghan married into the family in May last year.

Both have unfortunately found themselves the focus of rumours of a feud.

However, with independent Meghan about to become a first-time mum, she may find herself needing her sister-in-law soon.
