What McDonald's has done with all its food since stores closed

With McDonald’s restaurants across the country closed, the fast food giant has been busy giving its food away instead.

Since McDonald’s hasn’t been selling food, it has instead been distributing essentials to those most in need.

The chain announced that it has been donating food to key workers and vulnerable people through food banks and charities, including FareShare, Company Shop and Food Drop, reports the Mirror .

When its restaurants closed , McDonald’s UK chief executive Paul Pomroy said: "We will be working closely with community groups across the UK and Ireland to distribute food from our restaurants to those most in need."

Since restaurants closed McDonald’s has donated more than 300 tonnes of food and drink to those in need via food banks and distribution centres in more than 1,900 towns and cities.

The chain has also offered goods to key workers on the frontline with fresh produce through its Company Shop.

  • 34,000 litres of orange juice
