What Maurizio Sarri said when asked about Juventus interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba

New Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has refused to rule out a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba's future is dominating United's pre-season after his agent Mino Raiola said the player wants to leave. But to his credit, Pogba has been professional throughout the pre-season tour and has been one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's best performers.

However, the fact remains that Pogba is looking to leave, with former club Juventus thought to be interested along with Real Madrid.

And United will be interested by Juve boss Sarri's answer when asked about Pogba.

Juventus have already signed Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey in midfield, as well as defender Matthijs de Ligt in defence. But Sarri did not shut down the reports they wanted to add Pogba to their summer transfer spree.

“I am not the technical director, so I do not know [if Pogba will come to Juventus],” Sarri said.

“I like him very much, but I don’t know the situation. Paul Pogba is a Manchester United player, so I don’t want to talk about that.”

The comments come after Raiola this week suggested Pogba's future may lie at Old Trafford after all.

"The future of people is not written," Raiola said. "We will see. Will he stay in Manchester? I live my life day by day."
