Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he will have little say in the prospect Paris Saint-Germain signing former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Pochettino made the admission during his unveiling as the French club's new manager on Tuesday afternoon, following the Ligue 1 club's decision to replace Thomas Tuchel with the Argentine.
Pochettino arrives in the French capital with a plethora of world class players already within his squad, including the likes of Marco Verratti, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
But even though the Ligue 1 giants, who reached the final of the UEFA Champions League last season, are already blessed with talent, they are in the running to sign Eriksen from Inter Milan.
Although Eriksen only left Spurs to join Inter in January last year, the Denmark international has struggled to live up to expectation, making just 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
With that in mind, Eriksen will be allowed to leave the San Siro this month, with the club having listed him on the transfer list.
As expected, a plethora of clubs, including Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal, have been linked with him. Now PSG, have also been linked with a move for the midfielder, but Pochettino has suggested that he will not have a direct say in whether or not he will be reunited with the former Ajax ace.
"Now is not the time to talk about rumours again," said Pochettino. "We already have to find all our players who are currently unavailable.
"It is a difficult period for everyone, every club has to adapt, but I think Leonardo will make the best choices for the team and to achieve our goals."
Eriksen was a key figure during Pochettino's time in north London but left the club just over a month after the Argentine was sacked and replaced by Jose Mourinho.
