What Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just said about Swansea City's Daniel James

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down reports the Red Devils are close to agreeing terms to sign Swansea City winger Daniel James.

Several top flights clubs have been linked with a swoop for the Welshman as a result of his performances during the 2018/19 campaign.

And on Friday morning, Talksport claimed the Red Devils were close to agreeing a deal that would see James move from the Liberty Stadium to Old Trafford for £15m.

Sources close to James have also told WalesOnline there is no deal imminent.

And Solskjaer remained tight-lipped on any potential deal when asked about James in his press conference ahead of United's Premier League clash with Cardiff City.

"I don’t know how many names have been mentioned, there are players I have barely seen who it says we are going to sign! The earlier you can do the transfers, the better it is," said the Norwegian.

"I can’t comment on every single individual. I don’t like when others talk about my players, I won’t talk about others."

The 21-year-old scored five goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Swans during the 2018/19 campaign.

He also netted the winner for Wales against Slovakia on what was his first competitive start for his country in March.
