What Man Utd need to do to complete Paulo Dybala swap deal for Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United are close to completing a swap deal with Juventus involving Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Italy.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the playmaker in recent days as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to improve his squad  before the start of the new season.

Tottenham were also believed to be interested in the Argentine, but Sky in Italy now report that United have agreed a deal in principle with the Italian champions that will see striker Lukaku head to the Allianz Stadium in exchange.

However, it is claimed that the swap will be dependent on Dybala accepting a move to Old Trafford.

When questioned about a potential deal on Tuesday, Solskjaer remained tight-lipped.

“I’m not here to talk about any rumours or speculation about other team’s players,” said the United boss after his side's 1-0 win over his hometown club Kristiansund in Oslo.

“But of course we’re working on one or two cases, as I’ve said before.

“There’s another ten days before we start the league and hopefully we can announce a fresh face or two.”

Since joining Juventus from Palermo in 2015, the 25-year-old has scored 78 goals in 182 appearances for the Italian giants.

He has also helped the club to win four Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies during his time in Turin.

However, he found the net just 10 times last season after seeing his role at the club diminish following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo .

And it is understood that Juventus are willing to offload Dybala, who did not feature on the club's recent tour of Asia due to his involvement at the Copa America, because they are keen on a deal for Lukaku.

The Belgium international is also a target for Inter Milan but the Serie A side have been unable to meet United's valuation of the 26-year-old.

If the move is completed, Dybala will become United's third signing of the summer after the club completed deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
