What Man City fans attending Leicester game can expect at the Etihad

Manchester City fans attending the Leicester game on Boxing Day will be required to have filled in their self-declaration form before arriving at the Etihad Stadium as part of new regulations.

Following the decision from the government to implement 'Plan B' measures, anyone with a ticket for City's home game with Leicester on December 26 was emailed by the club at the start of the week with a link to complete the form by midnight on Thursday.

Once at the stadium, supporters will need to be able to show proof of either their NHS Covid Pass, a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of the matchday, or exemption. The club are encouraging fans to give themselves more time at the ground to allow for these checks, although it is understood that there will be stewards carrying out spot checks around the stadium rather than every fan being stopped on their way through the turnstiles.

Face coverings are essential inside the stadium, and encouraged but optional when seated outside.

These rules are in place until further notice, although will be subject to further changes from the government. Boris Johnson has warned that more measures could be on their way, while games have already been pushed back behind closed doors in Wales and Scotland for upcoming weeks in a battle to stop the spread of the Omicron variant.

City have just one home game scheduled at the Etihad in January, with title rivals Chelsea visiting on January 15.
