What Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher wants to happen to Man City

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher hopes the Premier League run-in will be a bumpy road for Man City but concedes that the Blues are the favourites for the title.

The international break may have but a brief pause on the chase for glory but it will undoubtedly pick up again and be more tense than ever when the league returns on Saturday.

Liverpool are currently top of the table by two points but they have played a game more than City.

It's all set up to be the tightest title race since the last time City and Liverpool went head-to-head in 2014 and Carragher expects both sides to drop points.

"It's very tight. City are in pole position. I still think City are big favourites as they've been there before and they have got that lead," the former defender said, via the Liverpool Echo.

But Liverpool are in a decent position as well. The real run-in starts now once this international break is out of the way. There are seven games left and it's going to be exciting.

“Will there be bumps in the road? None I hope, hopefully there are a few for City.

“I think both teams will drop points and I expect it to go right to the wire. It's going to be a great end to the season, really exciting.

It's been a few years since we've had a finish like that and it's just great that Liverpool are involved.

“It's exciting as it's not just the Premier League Liverpool are going for, it's the Champions League as well. Credit to the manager and the players for putting themselves in a great position.”
