What Liverpool fans noticed during TV coverage against Barcelona

Liverpool supporters needed something to take their minds of what they were watching on Wednesday night .

While many were twiddling on their phones as Barcelona took control of their Champions League semi-final, those still fully focused got a welcome distraction.

During the game a lone bird kept flying in front of the camera - and soon found some fans online.

The relentless wing-man enjoying making an appearance and didn't seem bothered by 90,000 fans in full voice.

While many paid hundreds to see the game, the cheeky chirper got a free view of the action - but in football you can't please everyone.

Some love the feathered free-loader, while others wanted pest control called ASAP.

"Anyone got a spare cat they cat lend BT Sport?" joked one on twitter.

"Get that bird gone! Although he is probably having a better game than Coutinho!" said another.

One even produced a heat map to show off the bird's movements across the Nou Camp.

It wasn't a night to remember for Liverpool but their manager plucked some positives from the defeat.

He said on BT Sport: "It's about scoring goals, they scored three and we scored none. I’m really happy with the performance but not the result.

"How we created the chances and caused them problems was outstanding - I don’t know if we can play much better.

“No one will be interested but a few football nerds because it is about the result and we lost 3-0 but I really think this was our best Champions’ League away performance.

"There will be a time when I can use the game forever to show the boys what is possible.”

Liverpool hope their fortunes improve this weekend.

They go to Newcastle in the Premier League as they look to track down Manchester City .
