What Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson told Ben Chilwell after Chelsea Champions League win

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson congratulated one of his England team mates on their Champions League triumph with Chelsea as the pair were reunited ahead of Euro 2020.

The Blues beat Manchester City in the final in Porto last week, with Kai Havertz netting the only goal.

Saturday saw the players involved for Man City and Chelsea link up with the England squad ahead of this summer’s European Championships.

Footage on England’s Twitter account showed the players arriving, with one moment showing Henderson greeting Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell can be seen greeting staff and players, including Henderson, and the camera was just about able to pick up what the Liverpool skipper said.

"Congrats, mate! I'm buzzing for you,” said Henderson, while giving Chilwell a brief hug.

The emotions of lifting Europe's biggest prize in club football is something the Reds midfielder knows very well, having raised the trophy himself in 2019.

Henderson was named in Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad for this summer’s tournament, but he did not feature in this week’s friendly win over Austria.

The 30-year-old has another chance against Romania today (Sunday), in what is England’s final friendly before their tournament opener against Croatia next week.

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has already been withdrawn from the squad after suffering a thigh injury that will rule him out for several weeks.
