Residents are divided on what life is like near Nottingham city centre's most dangerous road, where a total of 25 serious accidents have occurred in the past five years.
Data from Crash Map reveals the figures in that Mansfield Road, which stretches from the city centre itself out towards Daybrook and beyond, has recorded the highest number of serious incidents out of any road in Nottingham.
The total number of serious incidents on the whole road is higher, but the figure of 25 is what's recorded in the boundary of Nottingham city.
The data shows there have been no fatal incidents on that stretch of road in the past five years though, whereas there have been in other areas.
And local residents have given mixed opinions when asked what they make of how dangerous the road is, and what life is like there.
Johnny Turner, 45, of nearby Sherwood Avenue, said: "I'm a cyclist and it's horrendous at times, people just charge everywhere and I really do not feel safe.
"I think the speed limit should be lowered and that the system should be changed to make Mansfield Road and Hucknall Road both one-way systems.
"Drivers should definitely be more careful on this road, they can be dangerous themselves."
Ed Davys, 43, who lives in Mapperley Park, said: "There is only really parking at the Winchester Street car park and apart from that, a lot of it is on the road, and that can be dangerous because of the speeds that some motorists drive at.
"Getting out of cars there can be tricky.
"But Sherwood is a vibrant place and it's nice to see new restaurants, bars and shops opening up here."
Gillian Beaumont, 79, of Warren Hill who was shopping in the area, said: "It's a lovely shopping area but what can you do about the busy road?
"It's so busy all the time."
But not everyone thinks Mansfield Road is that dangerous, and one resident says he is 'used to it' now.
Amar Binjie, 35, lives in Sherwood, and said: "You get used to it, it has got busier over the last few years with more bars and restaurants here.
"There's nothing bad to say really though, I love Sherwood and it has changed a lot."
