What life after Love Island is like for Manc contestant Callum Jones

Former scaffolder Callum Jones set hearts aflutter earlier this year when he joined Love Island to find love - and his romance with fellow contestant Molly Smith is still going from strength to strength while in lockdown.

The Manchester lad appeared to hit it off immediately with London democratic services officer Shaughna Phillips on the ITV2 dating show, but he made a bold move when he decided to swap feisty Shaughna for another woman.

Callum, 23, fell for fellow Mancunian Molly Smith when the boys were dispatched from the Love Island villa to the neighbouring Casa Amor where they were introduced to a new line-up of potential dates.

Callum is now living in lockdown with girlfriend Molly and her parents John and Sheila at their home in Manchester.

"It's going really well," he told us.

"I'm keeping busy by baking, cooking, making jigsaws and I've done a couple of Joe Wicks workouts.

"Before lockdown I went to the gym five or six times a week.

"I'm into cooking and baking cakes. In the villa I would cook every morning.

"Being in Love Island was a bit of prep for lockdown only in 30 degree heat."

Callum, 23, quit his scaffolding job for the Love Island adventure in January.

"It wasn't long after I left the villa that lockdown happened," he said about life back in the UK.

"I've been keeping as busy as possible but I don't know what the future holds at the moment."

Callum had previously applied for the summer series and was eventually chosen for the first winter edition.

"I applied for Love Island because I was single and had no ties," he said.

"I applied for the summer series and got through to the execs, then I heard rumours there would be a winter series and got lucky again.

"When I found out I had been chosen I was over the moon."

Callum says he's received a positive response from the public after leaving the villa, and he'd recommend the Love Island experience to others hoping to find love.

He added: "I felt fortunate to go on the show and then to go on and find somebody.

"I'd definitely recommend it."
