What Lewis Capaldi actually said during muted sweary Brits 2021 speech

Lewis Capaldi was muted by Brit Awards bosses during his sweary speech but we can reveal what he actually said in the uncensored version.

The Someone You Loved global charttopper was at the O2 Arena ceremony on Tuesday night to hand out the award for Best Album.

After being introduced by host Jack Whitehall as "the Buckfast Adele", Lewis swaggered on stage shouting "shut up...shut up" before saying: "hello motherf***ers," as the sound was swiftly muted and distorted noises played over the top of him.

He added: "I'm f***ing sweating," and the audio was cut again with viewers at home left guessing at what he said.

However a video has now emerged online of Lewis' unbeeped speech in full.

Lewis said : "I'm f***ing sweating here. It's like a swamp down there...sweaty b*****ks."

He added: "Sorry, I'm reading off a card here...how is everyone doing? It's great to be here tonight.

"It's just great to be out of the house to be honest. It's been a great year for albums, most of all because I haven't f***ing released one."

Lewis then concluded: "Let's hope this year is even bigger and better than ever for British music and obviously let's also hope Scotland win at the Euros."

The crowd were applauding Lewis, but they weren't too happy with the football comment and booed him.

Lewis then held the cue card up and shouted: "I didn't f***ing write it!"
