What Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper has said about the dangers of complacency tonight

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper has warned his side of any overconfidence as they look to seal a place at Wembley for the Championship play-off final against Derby County on Wednesday.

The Whites host Frank Lamaprd's Rams at Elland Road in the second leg of their semi-final clash knowing that a place at the national stadium - and a shot at promotion to the Premier League - awaits the victor.

Marcelo Bielsa's side head into the clash with a 1-0 advantage after Kemar Roofe's second half strike sealed a first leg win at Pride Park on Saturday, though the forward will miss this tie through injury.

However, Cooper has cautioned that his team-mates will not be letting their statistical advantage go to their head, especially with the prospective promise of the game of a lifetime on the horizon.

"I don’t like to ever be overconfident," the 27-year-old stated. "I think as soon as you start being like that, I think it can affect the way you perform.

"Obviously it affects your mentality and we’re not a team who can have an effect with our mentality going into games.

"We’ve got to be all at it, we’ve got to have 18 players at it come matchday. If we’re not, we find it hard.

"We’re not stupid. We know [Wembley]'s there, it’s a massive prize to go for. But as the more senior lad in the team, it’s down to me to obviously bear away from that.

"We’re 1-0 up, it’s not comfortable at all. Like I say, we’ll be going to win the game.

"There’ll be no change from us, we’ll be going to win the game and as I said earlier, the best team over the two legs, they’ll go to the final."
