What Leeds Festival ticket holders must do to get their money back as event cancelled

Ticket holders for this year's Leeds Festival are being advised to wait a week before making contact with agents.

This is because they will get in touch with all 75,000 people who have bought tickets for the now cancelled event.

The three-day festival, that was due to take place in Bramham Park during the bank holiday weekend in August, has been called off due to concerns about coronavirus.

LeedsLive was told by a local MP this morning (Tuesday) that the festival would not go ahead but the organisers denied this was the case - until now.

Organisers of Reading and Leeds Festival issued a statement on its social media account this afternoon to confirm that it could not go ahead.

Leeds Festival has a capacity for 75,000 people to attend.

What do you need to do to get a refund?

If you bought a ticket you are being advised to wait seven days before contacting your ticket agent. This is so that they can get in touch with you.

However, if you bought your ticket from a physical outlet - you are being told to contact them to get your money back.

There is however, the option to roll over your ticket until next year.

In a statement today bosses said: "We are working closely with our ticketing partners and they will be in touch very soon to process your refund, or, if you prefer, you can retain your ticket and carry it over to next year.

"Look out for an email from your ticketing agent and please only contact them if you have not been contacted after seven days as they are very busy at this time.

"If you purchased your ticket from a physical outlet, please contact that outlet to obtain your refund.

"We're already counting down the days to when we're back in the fields we call home for the August bank holiday.

"We promise you that Reading and Leeds 2021 will be worth the wait."
