Laurent Koscielny looks like he is heading for the Arsenal exit.
The France defender has refused to travel with the squad for the pre-season tour of the United States, sparking further talk of a move away.
Unai Emery may have to offload some players to boost his transfer budget this summer, but Koscielny was not seen as one of those that the head coach wanted to leave.
In a statement, Arsenal said: "We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.
"We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time."
Koscielny is club captain at the Emirates, but has been linked with a move to Lyon and Rennes already this summer.
And what the centre-back said just two months ago, and during the new 2019/20 kit launch at the start of July has come back to haunt the Gunners.
Following a lengthy lay-off through injury, the defender returned to action in December and helped Arsenal to reach the final of the Europa League.
Of course it was in the semi-final of the Europa League in 2018 that Koscielny ruptured his Achilles tendon and prior to their semi-final against Valencia last season, he spoke about his layoff.
On May 1 he said: "I will always fight for my club."
And as if that was not bad enough, Koscielny was used in the club's kit launch video as they welcomed adidas back as their supplier for the 2019/20 campaign.
The video has been widely praised, but during it, Koscielny is heard saying: "We play for the badge."
It seems the 33-year-old will now be fighting for another club and playing for a different badge.
