What Kylian Mbappe has said about PSG future amid Manchester United transfer suggestion

Kylian Mbappe wants to leave PSG during the January window - according to bombshell reports from Spain.

Mbappe, 23, is regarded as one of the best footballers on the planet and forms part of a devastating attacking trio in the French capital with Lionel Messi and Neymar. However, despite signing a bumper contract this summer, there are mounting suggestions he could seek a new challenge.

Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting that his relationship with the club has 'completely broken' and that comes after he criticised PSG manager Christophe Galtier over his tactics. It is also claimed that Mbappe and Neymar have encountered issues with their relationship and that is seen as a telling factor.

However, Sky Sports have since reported that PSG hold no intention of selling Mbappe, with the club calling the Marca story "totally untrue" and "utter nonsense".

Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer. However, while the Spanish champions made an offer for his services, the player stayed put at PSG. He remains under contract until 2025 but Marca state Real will be blocked from a follow-up swoop.

Liverpool have been cited as a potential suitor for the France superstar - despite some concerns over what he may cost when taking into account his transfer fee, wages and so on. Mbappe is tipped to favour a move to the Premier League, meanwhile, but does that render Manchester United a genuine option?

Speaking about his future last year before signing a new contract, Mbappe said: "I need to take the right decision, which is hard. I need to give myself the best opportunity to decide well.

"I'm somewhere where I'm happy, I feel good. But is it the best place for me? I don't yet have an answer."

Shortly after those summer comments, his international teammate and current United defender - Raphael Varane - was posed the same question about Mbappe and offered up a simple response.

He added: "It is he who decides. He has the maturity to choose with his close circle.

"He has his head on his shoulders, he knows what he wants. It is not my role to advise him."
