Arsenal fans will love what Krzysztof Piatek said amid claims Tottenham transfer is 'agreed'

Tottenham fans may be concerned with comments previously made by AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek about his boyhood club, amid rumours of a swoop in the January transfer window.

According to latest reports from The Sun, Spurs have agreed a £23.8 million deal to sign Piatek from Milan.

The Polish striker is reportedly set to put pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract and will complete a medical in the next 48 hours.

Aston Villa appeared to be leading the race for the Polish striker at the start of the window, but with Kane injured, Tottenham have moved to sign a replacement, at least in the interim.

Piatek shot to fame last season after scoring 13 goals in 19 Serie A games for Genoa, earning him a January move to Milan, scoring a further nine goals in the league at the San Siro.

However, he has been unable to hit the same heights this season with a return of just four goals in 18 matches, leading to reports that the Italian side will cash in.

He is valued at around £30million, but Mourinho and Spurs could push through a loan deal for the rest of the season, with an option to buy at the end of it.

Interest from Premier League sides was quickly mentioned, with Spurs joining the pursuit, but Piatek has previously admitted that he was a boyhood Arsenal fan.

“When I was a child I was an Arsenal fan. I loved the style of Wenger and I admired players like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp,” he told Italian newspaper Tuttosport in March 2019.

If a move to Spurs were to occur, Spurs can expect anything they say on the striker to be met by responses from Arsenal fans raising these comments once again.
