Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is back in action.
The 26-year-old started for Spain in their international friendly against Portugal on Wednesday evening on what was his first outing since the Blues decided to splash £22m on Edouard Mendy.
After gifting Sadio Mane a goal in Chelsea's 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool last month, Kepa was left out of the squad for the following game against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.
Head coach Frank Lampard then opted to stick with Willy Caballero in between the sticks for the 3-3 draw against West Brom after deeming Mendy not ready to make his debut just days after signing for the club.
However, the Blues boss did hand his new goalkeeper a start in the cup tie at Tottenham Hotspur and appears to have settled on his number one for the season.
On Kepa's 26th birthday he watched on from the bench as Mendy kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut in a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
With that said, the Spaniard believes he can still turn around his fortunes at Stamford Bridge.
"I’m confident I can turn it around and do my best when I play," he said on Tuesday (as per the Express). "We all want to play. But I don’t think about anything beyond the day-to-day life and focusing on the national team’s matches.
"We have three matches and my focus is on them."
And the first step towards redemption for Kepa came against Portugal as he kept a clean sheet - his first in any competition for club or country since July 14.
With Portugal boasting the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva and Joao Felix in their ranks, it may make Kepa's shut-out all the more impressive.
Speaking after the game, Kepa had a message for Lampard.
"I've felt confidence, at ease [with the national side]," he told reporters. "I think it was a good game and I'm happy with the confidence of the coach.
"When I'm needed to help on the pitch, I try to do the best possible. It was a game of great intensity.
