What Kepa Arrizabalaga did for a young pitch invader after Chelsea vs Tottenham in Carabao Cup

Kepa Arrizabalaga had a comfortable night on Wednesday as Chelsea beat Tottenham 2-0 in the semi-final first leg of the Carabao Cup.

An early goal from Blues forward Kai Havertz was followed up by a humiliating, self-inflicted own goal where Japhet Tanganga headed the ball onto Ben Davies, who could do nothing to stop it finding its way into the Spurs net.

Tottenham rarely threatened Kepa at the other end, but the Chelsea shot stopper was called into action on two occasions towards the end of the game.

He dealt with those attempts from Harry Kane and Giovani Lo Celso well as he pushed both efforts away from the Blues' goal.

As he was applauding the crowd after the game, Kepa was approached by a young fan on the pitch.

As per the Daily Star, the young supporter ran onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge and tried to make his way to the Spanish keeper.

A steward intervened and began to lead the child off the playing surface, but Kepa insisted that he first speak to him. He then presented the fan with his match-worn gloves.

Although the supporter shouldn't have been on the pitch, Kepa's gesture has been well received by Blues fans.

With Edouard Mendy now away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, Kepa has the chance to show what he's capable of as the Blues' stand-in stopper this month.

Thomas Tuchel may opt to rotate him against National League outfit Chesterfield in the FA Cup on Saturday, but he's likely to start in the return leg against Spurs on Wednesday, as well as the crucial Premier League encounter with Manchester City on 15 January.
