What Kaide Gordon told Jurgen Klopp at full-time after Liverpool debut

Jurgen Klopp expressed his delight at his three debutants as Liverpool cruised to Carabao Cup victory.

Teenage trio Kaide Gordon, Conor Bradley and Tyler Morton all made their first appearances for the Reds in the 3-0 third round win at Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Gordon, aged 16 years and 351 days, became the third-youngest player to start a competitive game for Liverpool, while 18-year-old Bradley was the first Northern Irishman to feature for the Reds since April 1954.

Morton, an 18-year-old midfielder, replaced the injured Naby Keita for the second half and impressed in the holding role.

And Klopp said: “The kids did exceptionally well, I have to say.

"All three physically really strong and that’s maybe the biggest surprise that they could go 94, 95 minutes. I’m really happy for them.

“Kaide is good, and has a lot of things to improve, a lot of things to settle, a lot of things to learn, but a lot of things are already there.

“We are really happy to have him around and we will treat him carefully. I’m really that he is here, he is a big talent.

“Conor Bradley, the first Northern Irish player since 1954, somebody should have told me before and I would have brought him in probably earlier! He played a super game.

“And Tyler as well. It was a big one for all three.

“The first thing that Kaide said to me after the game, when I wanted to say ‘congratulations’, he said ‘thank you!’.

“But there was nothing to be thankful about, he deserved it. It’s all fine, these boys are good and thank God they are ours.”
