What Jurgen Klopp sent Harry Wilson after Liverpool loanee's debut Bournemouth goal

Jurgen Klopp made sure that Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson knows that he's still in his thoughts after the Wales international scored on his debut for Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old has joined the Cherries on a season-long loan deal from the Reds, and he marked his first appearance for the club with a trademark strike from distance to put Eddie Howe's men 2-0 up against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.

Bournemouth would go on to win the game 2-1 - the same margin of victory that Liverpool enjoyed at Southampton elsewhere on the same afternoon.

And after overseeing that victory, Klopp sent a message of congratulations to Wilson for his goal and the win for his new club.

When Wilson boarded the Cherries' team coach he reportedly checked his phone to find a selfie of a happy Klopp with the words "Well done - we're all delighted for you."

The Liverpool boss is keen to keep a close eye on Wilson as his monitors his development over the campaign, following on from last season's successful temporary spell at Derby County.

And Cherries boss Howe praised the way the Welshman has settled in.

“Harry’s an outstanding talent. He has great attributes," said Howe at Villa Park.

“We’re very grateful that they (Liverpool) trusted us with Harry for the next stage of his learning and development to try to play in the Premier League. We hope he enjoys his stay here.

“He’s settled in great. He knows a few of the lads from the Welsh team and that helps. That enables you to feel at ease, with those relationships you already have.

“He has unique qualities that will serve him really well. The lovely left foot playing on the right is something that’s suited us down the years so we’re excited. He can get better as he learns more about us and we learn more about him.”
