It was a big night for former Fulham teenager Harvey Elliott on Wednesday as he made his debut for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
The 16-year-old became the youngest player to start a match for Liverpool as he was given an opportunity against Milton Keynes Dons, with Elliott helping the Reds to a 2-0 win at stadium mk.
Elliott twice came close to netting on his debut as he hit the crossbar on two separate occasions, with the former Fulham teenager impressing pundits and fans alike with his display.
But Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called for patience with Elliott, together with fellow young players Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster, who started alongside him in attack on Wednesday.
And he has suggested that he won't be throwing them into the deep end in the Premier League just yet, although the Liverpool boss has hinted at further opportunities for them.
"I think they are ready for more. We need to find the right moment," he said.
"We are not in doubt with these boys, we know exactly what we want to do with them and what we expect from them. They have all the time in the world. For Harvey [Elliott], he was the most obvious.
"They have to be patient. When you let them off the leash they are ready for some really nice football games. We prepare them not for one Premier League game but a Premier League career. A few steps to go, no problem with that. Really nice signs on Wednesday, for sure."
