What Jurgen Klopp has banned from Liverpool ahead of new Premier League campaign

Jurgen Klopp has banned Liverpool players from discussing their Champions League triumph in Madrid.

Many are still celebrating the success which saw the Reds claim their sixth European Cup by defeating Tottenham 2-0 in the Spanish capital.

But Klopp wants to put this in the past as he readies his side for a 'new chapter'.

Speaking after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, the 52-year-old said: "After this trip nobody should talk to me about the Champions League trophy. We don’t carry it with us. Now we start a new chapter.

“I would be happy if we start at the similar level to last year. That would not be bad. There is space for improvement. Consistency on a high level is most important.”

The first piece of silverware the Reds can claim will be on August 4, which sees Klopp’s men take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Wembley for the Community Shield.
