What Jurgen Klopp did when Harvey Elliott stepped up Liverpool return

Liverpool were handed a boost as Harvey Elliott stepped up his rehabilitation from injury this week.

Midfielder Elliott dislocated his ankle in the away win at Leeds in September and has undergone surgery to put him on the path to recovery.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of Elliott’s and the German is clearly pleased to see the youngster back out on the grass as he steps up his recovery.

In Liverpool training on Tuesday, Klopp was captured going over to Elliott and giving him one of his famous hugs.

The Reds manager will be hoping to see the return of the midfielder sooner rather than later as Liverpool are already without Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino going into a hectic festive period.

No time scale was put on the return of Elliott but it seems he may return sooner than what was initially thought at the time of the injury.

Elliott’s return in the second half of the season could come as a timely boost for the Reds, who are set to be without Keita, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for the duration of January due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
