What Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have said about Bukayo Saka amid huge Arsenal transfer links

Manchester City and Liverpool are ramping up their interest in Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka, according to reports. The 20-year-old has continued to impress over the past season, becoming a key player for the Gunners.

In 38 Premier League appearances, the England international scored 11 and assisted seven, driving the side forward when needed most. However, with his deal expiring in 2024, there will be concerns over keeping him for the long-term project.

Discussing Saka and his ability over the campaign, Mikel Arteta said: “What he is already doing is phenomenal and he needs that room. Don't read too much, do what you do. Football is his priority in life and you can see that every day in training and he needs to continue to behave and live the way that he is doing."

While the Gunners will be hopeful of extending his contract, missing out on Champions League football could represent a huge blow. This could allow for the Reds or the Citizens to make their move for the winger.

Both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have already given glowing reviews of Saka when discussing him before, highlighting why they may want to add him to their squads. The former, when discussing the forward last year, said: “With [Martin] Odegaard and especially with Saka they are a really tough opponent to play. They have incredible young, talented players and I see a bright, bright future for Arsenal.”

As for Klopp, he labelled Saka as “young and exciting”, adding: “You can see they brought a few new faces in; some found, obviously, their striking feet back, And apart from that, young and exciting players as well with [Emile] Smith Rowe and [Bukayo] Saka and all these kinds of things.”

Whether the youngster makes the move to either club remains to be seen, given his importance to Arsenal. However, the club may have to continue pushing to keep hold of their young talents.
