What journalists talk about, or the food heist game

Monday afternoon. As is often the case, the Observer Food Monthly team are giving away stuff - leftovers from the various goodies that get sent in for review. Legend tells of an OFM fridge replete with the rarest delicacies.

By the time the blog had made it downstairs there was nothing but a packet of muesli, two tins of baked beans, some clotted cream and a sachet of coffee. This haul was the cue for a round of virtual Ready, Steady, Cook. What might you whip up with these ingredients? Somehow that morphed into a new game: Oceans 11-meets-Ready, Steady, Cook in which you plot a heist using only the free food items. So far we have blinded the security guard by throwing muesli in his eyes and created a slick of clotted cream to slide the vault into our getaway vehicle ...

Other thoughts, whether on the recipe or evil master crime, gratefully received. Best idea gets ... er, a sachet of coffee? Blog kudos?

Tomorrow we will start putting a newspaper together.

Updated Tuesday 19 April: Clearly we must take our muesli, cream and beans down to Heston at the accolade-collecting Fat Duck restaurant.
