What Jose Mourinho said to Son Heung-min after Tottenham star's brace against Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho brilliantly gatecrashed Son Heung-min's post-Aston Villa interview.

The South Korea international was Spurs' matchwinner at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon as he netted twice in a dramatic Premier League encounter which brought about five goals and plenty of chances for both sides.

Having fallen behind to Toby Alderweireld's own-goal, the Lilywhites went in an the break leading 2-1 thanks to the Belgian finding the right net and Son making amends for his penalty miss.

However, with the game edging towards finishing all square, there would be another sting in the tale.

Bjorn Engels, who had equalised for the hosts, failed to make a routine clearance which allowed Son to take full advantage as he kept his cool to find the bottom corner and spark wild scenes from the travelling support.

Naturally, the Spurs no.7 was in demand at the final whistle.

Whilst Speaking to the club's official TV channel, it just so happened that Mourinho stopped by for a quick chat with the two-goal hero.

The Portuguese tactician said: "You speaking about the goals he scored or the goals he missed?!"

All was done with a massive smile on Mourinho's face and he even shared a nice moment with Son before heading off to do his own post-match media duties.

And Mourinho was full of praise for Son as well as Lucas Moura in his post-match press conference.

"The problem with Son and Lucas, the problem with especially these two guys is they have to play 90 minutes every game," he said. "That's the problem and if they run out of fuel then we are in trouble but their quality as players is fantastic, their attitude towards the team is absolutely incredible and I am so, so pleased for them.

"A team without Harry [Kane] is finding obviously difficulties, the difficulties are the nature of the Premier League, but in the middle of the difficulties we are finding a different way to play football.

"We are finding a different way to create opportunities and to score enough goals to put ourselves in a position to fight for a good position in the table."

Victory for Spurs has moved them to within a point of London rivals Chelsea in the race for a top-four spot.

The Blues are in action against Manchester United on Monday night before welcoming the Lilywhites to Stamford Bridge next weekend in what will be a huge fixture.

Although, following news that Manchester City are facing a Champions League ban, fifth place in the Premier League - the position Spurs currently occupy - will be enough as things stand to qualify for the competition next season.
