What Jose Mourinho has said about whether Son Heung-min can play for Spurs while wearing a cast

Jose Mourinho has not ruled out the possibility of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min playing alongside each other again for Tottenham this season.

The Spurs duo are both sidelined at the moment through injury, with Kane out with a hamstring injury, while Son has recently had surgery on a fractured arm sustained early on in the 3-2 win against Aston Villa.

Tottenham have provided a positive update on Kane, who is now starting on-field rehabilitation, with Mourinho hopeful that the England international could be back sooner than first expected.

But he says Tottenham must follow safety protocols with both Kane and Son, who he initially said he was not counting on again this season.

Jose Mourinho: I have no complaints about my players

That may have changed though, with Mourinho discussing the possibility of the South Korean international playing with a cast before the end of the campaign.

"That's a hope but we're far from it," Mourinho said, speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Wolves this weekend.

"He's coming back to England very soon. Then of course he'll have to follow some safety protocols because he flies from Seoul.

"When his recovery starts, we'll try all the possibilities to have him back for some matches. I cannot imagine when.

"But there's a good possibility that before the end of the season, we have Harry [Kane] and Sonny [Son Heung-min] playing together."
