What Jorginho's agent has said about the midfielder's future amid Juventus transfer links

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has dismissed reports linking the Italy international with a return to Serie A, despite reports elsewhere insisting that he is close to joining Juventus.

Over the past few weeks, reports have surfaced about the possibility of Juventus trying to land Jorginho in a swap deal, with the likes of Miralem Pjanic and Federico Bernadeschi being tipped to go in the opposite direction.

The reason for Juventus' interest in signing the central-midfield maestro, who, with the rest of his Chelsea teammates, returned to training this week, as the club stepped up their plans to resume the Premier League campaign next month, is because Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on the idea of a reunion with the Italy midfielder, who he brought to Chelsea from Napoli back in July 2018.

Sarri is understood to be a big fan of Jorginho's qualities and would like the opportunity to work with him once again.

However, Joao Santos - Jorginho's agent - has confirmed that no contact has been made by the Serie A club about the possibility of striking a deal ahead of the next transfer window opening for business.

"Juventus are one of the top teams in Europe and any player would like to play for them," Santos admitted in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.

"I haven't heard from Paratici [Juventus' Chief Football Officer], he hasn't called me. Jorginho has three years left on his contract with Chelsea, he's doing well in London.

"I read about the links with Juventus through newspapers and various outlets.

"I repeat: Juventus are one of the top clubs in football."

Up until the 2019/20 campaign was suspended in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic, midfield starlet Jorginho, 28, had been enjoying a successful second season in Chelsea colours.

At the point of where the season was suddenly halted, the midfielder had racked up 37 appearances in all competitions for Frank Lampard's team, netting seven goals, four of which had come in the Premier League.

He has been vital to Chelsea's push for a top-four finish in the league this season and it is almost certain that Lampard will be desperate to keep hold of him ahead of next season.
