Jordan Pickford wished Robin Olsen 'all the best' before the on-loan goalkeeper made his Everton debut in the defeat against Newcastle United on Sunday.
Olsen, 30, replaced Pickford at St. James' Park after the former Sunderland shot-stopper had appeared in 120 consecutive Premier League games for the club.
"We train and speak together every day and he said 'good luck, all the best'," Olsen explained.
"All of the goalkeepers here are good guys. We’ve had good sessions every day and push each other and help each other to be better.

"I am really happy to work with Alan Kelly. I heard good things about him when I signed and I was looking forward to starting work with him.
"It is a different technique over here from Italy – everything is different, which I am happy about.
"Sometimes this fits better for an individual than the other one. I am enjoying going to training to try to improve myself every day."
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed before the game that Pickford will return to face Manchester United next weekend but Olsen 'hopes to play again' after making several impressive saves against Newcastle.
"I came to Everton because I want to play," he said.
"Everybody wants to play football – I will keep going and train hard and hope I will play again. It is nice to have my debut but I am disappointed about the result.
"There is nothing I can be happy about right now. It was pleasing to make those saves but they didn’t help the team because we lost.
"Maybe in one or two days I can look back and be happy with the saves but right now it is hard to stand here and be happy."
