What Jody Morris did to celebrate Christian Pulisic's hat trick against Burnley

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has revealed that the squad listened to the American National Anthem after Christian Pulisic's first goals in a Blues' shirt.

The USA international had a difficult to start to life in the Premier League, it was Pulisic's first league start in five league games and the attacker repaid Frank Lampard's faith in him in the perfect way by helping his team to record a 4-2 win which took them up to fourth place in the Premier League table.

The hat trick earned Pulisic rave reviews and while he got the match ball to take home, Mount has revealed that assistant manager Jody Morris also helped the summer arrival to celebrate on the coach back.

"We went from the stadium to the airport so we were on the coach and the first thing that happened was Jody Morris put the American national anthem on," he told MOTDX .

"Everyone sat down and that was the first thing that came on."

Ahead of this weekend's match, Lampard spoke of Pulisic's adaptation period to the Premier League.

"People seemed to think that was his debut against Burnley but  it wasn't, far from it," he said.

"He's had input until then. He has been a bit of a special case.

"As I explained after Burnley, he has had a short break, big transfer, different league. But of course performances like last week give him the opportunity to throw himself in there and let's see him reproduce that sort of stuff."
