What Jesse Lingard has said about the Emirates Stadium amid shock Arsenal transfer link

The big transfer news this weekend surrounds Arsenal.

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad before next season.

It's being reported that the north London outfit will not rule out making an attempt to sign the England international in the summer transfer window.

Art de Roche's full Arsenal Q&A

That's according to The Athletic.

They claim that because the Gunners will likely need a replacement for loanee Dani Ceballos at the end of the season, head of football Raul Sanllehi is rated as among the most likely in the Premier League to give Lingard's agent Mino Raiola a call.

The report also states that Wolves, Watford and Sheffield United are possible destinations for Lingard meanwhile, Roma and Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested.

In addition, the Sun reported last month that he is heading towards the Old Trafford exit door with his career at his boyhood club hanging in the balance.

It's a rumour which has prompted a rather angry response from a number of Arsenal fans on social media.

But could Lingard really be swapping Old Trafford for the Emirates?

Interestingly, Lingard previously got under the skin of Arsenal fans with his nickname for their home ground.

After scoring against the Gunners in an FA Cup tie last season, he pulled out a ‘moonwalk’ celebration

To make matters even worse, Lingard then trolled Arsenal with his location setting.

Rather than linking to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium as the location on an Instagram post, Lingard named it his “Dancefloor”.

That certainly gives this surprise transfer rumour some added spice.
