What Jermaine Jenas has said about Eden Hazard that will not go down well with Chelsea fans

Jermaine Jenas says he cannot see Eden Hazard staying at Chelsea beyond this summer, amid interest from Real Madrid.

The Chelsea star's future has been the subject of increased speculation in recent months, with Real Madridunderstood to have identified the 28-year-old as their top target this summer.

Hazard himself has dropped a number of subtle hints over his future, but has kept Chelsea fans guessing, with no confirmation as yet as to where he will be playing next season.

La Liga expert makes surprising claim about Eden Hazard & Maurizio Sarri amid Chelsea exit talk

He still has one year left on his contract at Chelsea and picked up three accolades at the club's end of season awards ceremony last night (Friday), and the Blues would be loathed to lose him amid a transfer ban that could see them unable to register players for the next two transfer windows.

But former Tottenham midfielder Jenas believes he will depart west London this summer, as he likened the situation to that of Cristiano Ronaldo when he left Manchester United for the Spanish capital in 2009.

"I think he [Hazard] will go. I would say he has been in the top five best ever players to have graced the Premier League. He has been a pleasure to watch," said Jenas, speaking on BBC programme Football Focus.

"It is like with Manchester United when [Cristiano] Ronaldo left, don’t get me wrong I was pleased that I wasn’t going to have to play against him, but you want the best players in the league.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder's hilarious response to talk of Eden Hazard leaving Chelsea

"From Chelsea’s point of view, he is going to be a massive miss with their embargo, but I can’t see him staying, and he has done all he can do at Chelsea."
