If you use Twitter you may have noticed people sharing posts including several coloured blocks.
While it may appear to be a confusing pattern at first, it is actually the result of a new online phenomenon called Wordle.
Wordle is a daily word game created by software engineer Josh Wardle for his partner, Palak Shah, who loves to play word games.

Josh and Palak played the game for months before deciding to share it with the world - and it has now become an online trend.
The game asks users to guess an unknown five-letter word in only six attempts.
After each guess, the colour of the tiles will change colour to show how close your guess to the word is.
If a tile turns green, that means the letter is in the word and the right spot.
If it is yellow, it means the letter is in the word, but it is in the wrong spot.
A grey-coloured tile means this letter is not in the word.
The game can be played on the internet here.
Celebrities such as Richard Osman and Jimmy Fallon have spoken about how addictive the game is.
