A new thriller is making its debut on Monday night which is set to have viewers guessing right until the end.
Hot on the heels of the heart wrenching conclusion of Unforgotten a few weeks ago, ITV will let another drama out of the traps this week - psychological three-parter Too Close.
Too Close focuses on the compelling and dangerous relationship between forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robertson, played by Miss Potter and War Horse actress Emily Watson who is assigned to work with Connie Mortensen, a woman accused of a heinous crime but who claims she can’t remember a thing.
Dr Robertson is not easily shocked, having worked with her fair share of high security patients.
However, when she’s sent to assess Connie, a new role for Stella star and Olivier Award-winning theatre actress Denise Gough, for trial the two women become dangerously close as Emma tries to get to grips with Connie's complex relationship with her beautiful best friend, Ness Jones (Thalissa Teixeira), which seems to have made her snap.
As Emma tries to uncover the truth and learn the catalyst for Connie’s despicable behaviour, it seems that her attempts to see justice done may destroy her instead.
Adverts for Too Close have aired for weeks now, meaning that anticipation is high for its first episode, with millions set to tune in at 9pm on Monday, April 12.
And its debut comes a night after BBC viewers were left on tenterhooks by a utterly thrilling episode of hit crime drama Line of Duty.
Some people declared they were 'unable to sleep' after everything that happened, including a shock death and THAT cliffhanger involving Jo Davidson.
If you have recovered from that, Too Close might be just the thing to keep you going until Sunday!
